Miranda is the best multiprotocol instant messaging program for OS Windows. Protocols supported in Miranda are for example ICQ, Jabber, Facebook, IRC, MSN, xFire, Omegle.
It is developed as open source and thus it's free. Miranda is based on system of extensions (plugins), which are adding new functions and qualities. Almost everything here is a plugin - contact list, message window, smileys, status notifications, tv program and hundreds of others. Also due to many available skins you can create pretty customized Miranda according to your taste.
However many people doesn't have much time for this and rather get some pre-customized pack, which is already prepared with many functions for direct use.
